Wellness Event Benefits Center For Family Justice Serving Stratford

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Susan Hood, a Fairfield-based personal trainer, is leading a “Morning of Wellness”at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities to benefit Bridgeport's Center for Family Justice on Saturday, Nov. 7.

For a $10 donation at the door, participants can join a variety of classes, taught by instructors from the Fairfield YMCA and the Yoga Cooperative.

“The whole idea is to raise awareness of the health benefits of a wellness practice for anyone, but especially for survivors of abuse and violence,” Hood said in a statement.

Classes in zumba, bootcamp or yoga and guided meditation will be held at 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., and 11:15 a.m..

Participants are urged to bring their own yoga mats.

Bigelow Center for Senior Activities is located at 100 Mona Terrace.

The Center for Family Justice, based in Bridgeport, serves women, men and children who’ve been the victims of domestic and sexual abuse and violence. It serves residents of Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.
