Shofar In The Park Will Celebrate Rosh Hashanah In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Shofar in the Park, a 30-minute high holiday service for Rosh Hashanah, is coming to Westport on Oct. 3.

Rabbi Levi Stone of the Schneerson Center for Jewish Life blows the shofar as is customary in the weeks before Rosh Hashanah to act as a “wakeup call” that the holidays are approaching.

The Jewish New Year celebration will take place at 5:15 p.m. when the ancient instrument will be blown at Riverside Park. The event is free, open to the public and will take place rain or shine.
