STRATFORD, Conn. — Short Beach in Stratford is closed Wednesday due to high bacteria counts in the waters of Long Island Sound, the town announced via Twitter.
"Please be aware that due to high bacterial counts, Stratford's Short Beach is closed until Thursday, August 4th. Thanks for your patience," the Town of Stratford said via Twitter @townofstratford.
Silver Sands State Park in Milford, which is run by the state is also closed Wednesday. The water there will be resampled on Aug. 4.
