STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Stratford Library, in partnership with the Vicki Soto Memorial Fund and the Stratford Board of Education, recently launched “Miss Soto’s Literacy Legacy.”
The new collaboration was in honor of Soto, a Stratford resident and teacher who was a victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting tragedy, which occurred three years ago today, Dec. 14.
“Miss Soto’s Literacy Legacy” will provide mentor books to each k-6 class for creative and innovative learning. The project began the first week of November, around Soto's 30th birthday, and will carry on several times throughout each school year.
Identified books and Soto's favorites will also soon be on display in the Stratford Library Children’s Department.
