The council voted to end negotiations during Monday night's meeting, the Stratford Star reported.

Negotiations broke down when the group told the council they were giving up on plans to build an inn on the property, part of the original negotiations begun in March 2015, reported the Stratford Star.

The theater has been closed since the late 1980s and questions on how to redevelop the property have been so far unanswered, the Stratford Star said.
