Stratford Firefighter Injured During Chemical Blaze

STRATFORD, Conn. — Six engine companies, one ladder and a hazmat team were needed to extinguish a chemical fire Oct. 25 that left one firefighter with a facial injury, ctpost.com reports.

Personnel at Total Petrochemicals and Refining plant on Ontario Street evacuated and called 911 after seeing heavy smoke from the roof area of the plant, according to the article. The fire was quickly contained, but the Fairfield County Hazardous Material Response Team was called for cleanup, said the ctpost.com.
