Ivan Butts, 39, of Stratford had been convicted in 2007 of trying to entice a teenage girl from Newtown to have sex with him, the Connecticut Post reported. Police told the Connecticut Post that Butts had contacted the girl through the internet, tried to meet with her and sent her a picture of his genitals.

He was sentenced to 20 months in prison and 10 years' probation, and released from prison in December 2008, the Connecticut Post reported. Part of the conditions of his probation was that he notify police of his current address on a monthly basis.

State police told the Connecticut Post that Butts did not abide by this condition, and he was arrested Wednesday.
