Update: One Dead After Rollover Crash On Merritt; 3 Ejected From Car

UPDATED: STRATFORD, Conn. — A man from Bridgeport was killed and two others were seriously injured after they were ejected from their car in a rollover crash overnight on the Merritt Parkway in Stratford, according to the Connecticut Post.

The crash, which occurred on the southbound side of the Merritt between Exits 53 and 52, closed the parkway for eight hours, the Post said. 

Jordan Soares, 27, of Bridgeport, who was a passenger in the car, was killed, the Post said.

The car rolled down an embankment at 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a two-car crash, state police told the Connecticut Post.

The three people thrown from the car that rolled over, as well as two passengers in the other car, were taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where Soares was pronounced dead, the Post said. The driver and passenger who were ejected sustained serious injuries, the Connecticut Post said. 

The crash remains under investigation.
