STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Stratford Town Council is expected to meet Monday, Jan. 11, to continue crafting a new fiscal plan after the town came up millions of dollars short in its budget, according to ctpost.com.
Mayor John Harkins created both the 2014-15 and 2015-16 budgets under the assumption that the town would sell its sewer system for $9 million, according to ctpost.com.
But in November, residents voted down the sale, forcing the town to reduce its budget by $5.1 million, according to ctpost.com.
Monday's meeting is a regularly scheduled event, according to ctpost.com.
