Stratford Mayor's Tee Off Pays Off For Town Police Athletic League
STRATFORD, Conn. — The Stratford Police Athletic League has $10,000 more to spend on programs for town youth, thanks to a donation from Mayor John Harkins from his Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament.
The mayor presented the donation to Police Chief Joseph McNeil at Town Hall Wednesday.
“We’re trying to emphasize the importance of PAL in the community,” Harkins said. “Look at the impact it has on kids.”

New Canaan Band Hopes To Rock The Vote With 95.9 Radio Contest
NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Four New Canaan dads are hoping to rock the vote.
Their band, Mind the Gap, is in the running for 95.9 FOX Radio's Classic Rock Cover Battle.
The group includes Tim Pringle on guitar, Graham Lampen on drums, Arthur Zinn, vocals, guitar and MC and Peter Ditlevsen, bass. Their initials spell Mind The Gap and they are known for performing at area venues as well as private parties.
The grand prize includes $1,000 and the opportunity to perform on the 95.9 the FOX Float at the Stamford Downtown Parade Spectacular the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
